“As the former Sheraton Nusa Indah Resort embarked at the beginning of 2003 into a full refurbishment and re-branding to Westin, the Spa was one of the areas that badly needed a new direction. Space, offer, service, atmosphere were an issue and needed complete rethink. Farida Brouwer was then hired as a Consultant to assist the hotel, from the conception to the delivery of the new spa. The brief was to create, in such a competitive environment, a unique spa with its own line of products and services. The “low tech – high touch” approach of Farida was a decisive strategy that proved to be the right one. Farida conducted the recruitment of the local therapists and of the spa manager. All associates were thoroughly trained based on clear standards & procedures. Farida took also a role in the marketing of the facility, from its image & identity to the pricing and merchandising.
